Grace Counseling of Austin is a private practice in Austin, TX. We are looking to hire a full-time mental health therapist to join the team. 

Mental Health Therapist - Hybrid

This position is for a full-time mental health therapist to see additional clients in-person and virtually at our practice.

 

This job is best suited for someone who is self-motivated, succeeds with flexibility and autonomy, loves to learn, and enjoys networking to grow their community engagement and build their client load. 

A Bit About Us:

Grace Counseling of Austin is a group private practice located in Westlake providing in-person and virtual therapy services for children, teens, adults, couples, and groups.

 

We maintain the flexibility and autonomy of a private practice with the focus and desire for community commonly found in a group practice. It is my hope that this job allows for a greater work-life balance and provides additional support for yourself and your clients. We focus the business efforts on supporting the clinician and their work by removing the business barriers and back-end stress of managing the practice so clinicians can focus on client care, treatment, marketing, and growth their clinical skills.  We are a fully private pay practice and offer competitive pay to our clinicians.

The Ideal Candidate:

 

Required:

  • A fully or provisionally licensed mental health professional (LPC, LPC Associate, LMFT, LMFT Associate, LCSW, LMSW under supervision) in the state of Texas. If you are provisionally licensed, we require that you provide your own supervision and remain under active supervision until you are fully licensed.

  • Must want to work in a group practice setting that offers a high degree of autonomy, flexibility, and self-motivation.

  • Desire to have a full caseload of 15 -20+ private pay clients a week. 

  • Openness and desire for learning - Ideal candidates should have a solid foundation with in-depth therapy and an eagerness to expand and grow their clinical skills.

  • Motivated to market yourself and/or work with us to grow your marketing practices.

    • Building a private-pay case load takes time, effort, and patience. Must be persistent and understand it will be a slow start. 

  • Ability to work independently and maintain a caseload with a high level of professionalism and care.

  • Desire to understand your own privileges, biases, and impact on the world.

  • Someone who is down to earth, kind, accepting, hard-working, creative, open, enthusiastic, and emotionally healthy. 

 

Preferred:

  • Desire to work with children and/or teens and their parents

  • At least 2 -3 days of evening availability (3pm-8pm).

  • Willing to offer at least 1 therapy group per year (short or long-term).

  • Private and secure space for virtual sessions conducted at home.

What We Ask of You:

 

  • Perform in-office and virtual clinical counseling services to clients of Grace Counseling of Austin, as scheduled, and in accordance with company policies.

  • Must be willing, motivated, and patient in networking and building your case load. 

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work.

  • Maintain a high level of professionalism in presentation and communication with clients

  • Be properly licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed for GCA.

  • Communicate with a client’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, dietitian, etc.) as necessary.

  • Attendance of team meetings and/or one-on-one check-ins.

  • Timely completion of written records for each client including, but not limited to: intake notes, progress notes, and other forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time by GCA or third parties in conjunction with the treatment of the client.

  • Keep client files accurate and up to date.

  • Charge and collect payments from clients for services provided consistent with the policy and rate for such services as established with GCA.​​

  • Schedule your clients and manage your own schedule.

  • Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner.

  • Provide consultation calls to prospective clients.

  • Provide 2-3 sliding scale spots for providing care to those in financial need. 

  • Basic computer skills, with proficiency with Google products (i.e., Gmail, Drive, Docs, Calendar, etc.). Must also have the ability to learn and utilize GCA’s internal technical tools and record keeping software.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive pay structure as a W2 commission-based employee. 

    • This is not a contract-position (no quarterly taxes or any of the additional work that comes with being a 1099 contractor).

    • Start out at a 60/40 commission rate with the opportunity for raises and bonuses based on performance. Standard payroll taxes apply. (The amount collected by the practice covers the operating and employee overhead costs.) 

  • Ability to earn bonuses or additional income through various administrative, marketing, or networking event opportunities. (These are not required, but exist to fulfill any creative outlets for clinicians.)

  • Training stipend per year.

  • Dedicated office space at least 3 days/week and all basic supplies.

  • Support in building your caseload, including receiving referrals from our established network and new client inquires. 

  • Coaching in creating a marketing strategy, identify your ideal clients, and build your therapist identity and reputation in our community.

  • We’ll teach you best practices for virtual and in-office therapy.

  • We provide the necessary back-end business systems such as: Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, HIPAA-compliant: Teletherapy platform, business phone number, professional email address, Google Drive, professional photos, training opportunities, and advertising on our website.

  • Flexibility to set your own fees and full choice in who you work with.

  • Flexibility with setting your schedule (within the range of clinic needs), including hours you are available to clients as well as time off.

  • Marketing on your behalf including having a profile on our website and being promoted in our newsletters.
