Grace Shook, LPC —

I am curious, open, and highly relational. I love getting to know who you are and building a trusting, safe space that is just for you. With an integrative approach, we will work together to develop a deeper and more loving relationship with yourself and others, create new habits, and practice new skills. I use techniques from intensive training in Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Level 1), and Positive Discipline (among many others) while considering your culture, personal beliefs, and values.

I am licensed in the state of Texas and Tennessee. I provide in-person sessions for those in Austin, TX as well as virtual options for Texas and Tennessee residents. I work with children (10yrs+), teens, and adults. I specialize in managing symptoms of anxiety and perfectionism, and am passionate about empowering individuals who are struggling with trauma, loss, or difficult transitions in life. I especially connect with high achievers, “peace-keepers”, or those who feel like they do not fully fit in. Many of my clients find me during a time of transition, such as starting college or a new school, relationship changes, or career shifts. I often hear that my clients feel stuck or trapped in unhelpful behaviors or thought patterns and want to find the freedom to be fully themselves.

All I ask of my clients is to come as you are and to be open to learning new things about yourself. My goal is to provide an unbiased, outside perspective in order to promote insight, spark growth, and help you feel empowered to reclaim your life.

The Whole Me

I'm a recovering perfectionist, and am learning to love myself as a work-in-progress. I'm also a sister, daughter, wife, dog-mom, tía, and friend. My home is my happy place, and I strongly believe there is no such thing as having too many plants. When I am not working, you'll find me near Lake LBJ, playing with my nieces, or binge watching the latest Netflix reality tv show.
